Und weiter ;-)

After the nice but unsuccessfull trips in Coratia I decided to find some moors in Slovenia and have a look there:

When I got out of the car close tot he first moor, the vegetation looked very promising already:

Especially the Sphagnum was leading me through that area:

And further on, it had rained all through one week before my visit and the area was therefore extremely wet and my shoes got completely sucked through by the water after a few minutes.

This little lizard was too slow to escape, it was probably to cold for him that day:

The first moor orchids, probably the same species I had already seen at Amerang Moor in Germany so I knew I was certainly right here :wink:

Bored? Let's get to the real material then :lol:

I was basically nearly standing on the Pinguicula vulgaris when I suddenly noticed the slight lilac colouration in the grass and nearly broke my neck in a quick move downwards :wink:

Although in flower, they were not very large and impossible to see on a distance longer than 4 metres:

Interestingly, the whole colony, consisiting of less than 40 adult plants as usual for this species, were grouped around a little bog:

It was nearly the same like in Amerang: The P.vulgaris grew very close to a resevoir of water which could keep the ground very wet all year through.

The Slovenian ones seemed to be extremely keen of getting as close as possible:

Wirklich schöne Bilder die du bis hier her gemacht hast. Nur habe ich 2 kleine Probleme: 1.) Bei mir sind die Bilder im 1. Teil genau die selben wie ich sie im 2. Teil sehe und 2.) Ab dem Bild unter dem folgendem Zitat wird bei mir nicht weiter geladen, weder im ersten, noch im zweiten Teil:

Ansonsten gefallen mir die Bilder sehr gut. Wo in Kroatien hast du die Pflanzen gefunden (Nord-,Mittel- oder Süddalmatien; welche Höhenlage und vor allem in welcher Vegetatienszone?) Ich nehme mal an die Moore lagen noch vor dem Velebit Gebirge, schließlich ist es dahinter zu heiß und zu trocken (also in Meeresnähe). Ich fahre mit meinen ELtern schon Jahre lang nach Kroatien, nur habe ich nie nach Carnivoren ausschau gehalten, da wir unser Quartir immer direkt am Meer (Region Zadar, müsste nördliches Mitteldalmatien sein) bezogen haben und ich die Vegetationszone dort für Carnivoren für sehr ungeeignet abgesehen habe (keine Moore, weil viel zu trocken, Sehr harter steiniger Boden, Hitze, kaum Niederschlag, usw.)...aber eventuell gibts in Kroatien ja noch mehr Carnivoren welche nicht unbedingt an feuchte bzw. nasse Standorte gebunden sind?

Die Moore waren in Nord Slowenien, genau genommen im Triglav National Park ;-)

Die Höhe war immer etwa um 1000-1200m.

Sehr schöne Bilder, Valentin, obwohl ich ja eher P. alpina und balcanica erwartet hatte. ;-)

Deshalb hattest du vermutlich auch Glück, dass du noch Blüten vorgefunden hast. Ich habe etwa zur gleichen Zeit einen Flachland Pinguicula-Standort im Harz aufgesucht und dort waren bereits keine Blüten mehr vorhanden.

Yes, the pond was full of U.minor, not easy to spot if never seen before but as I grow them myself I watched out for them

And only 1 metre away on the other side of the little pond, the next species which I already had missed:

The common D.rotundifolia:

I noticed that they don't get really large in Slovenia, compared to other sites I had visited.
