You can see, that Nepenthes species fall under the regulation of appendix II (except rajah and kashiana), and if you click on #4 you can see that -if I understand it correctly- seeds are an exception from appendix II regulation.
So what do you think? Please correct me if I'm wrong I really don't want to spread misinformation!

Hi István

I have to admit that i have no clue about this entire topic.

However my approach is rather that if it comes to seeds, they can be sent in letters rather than boxes, which make them way less interesting for customs to actually look at this.

So therefor i am aware of that risk but if i request seeds from the EU i of course take the financial risk of the delivery being intercepted and destroyed by the customs officials.

The risk to me appears as quite small for seeds being sent by letter, as i already stated.

The point you made still is very interesting.

The entire "cites" topic is something very confusing to me anyway esp. as for instance the Nepenthes Raja as you mentioned is very restrictive and other nepenthes species that may be even closer to extinction are not.

Best regards

Robin

Yes in regards to the nepenthes family CITES definitely would need an update. Rajah at the time of decision making was being poached extensively, that's why it made it to appendix I; actually it is kind of turning out as a conservation sucess story (if you can call conserving the very top vegetation of some mountains -while destroying almost everything else- a sucess). I feel that with other species the comitee was simply a bit neglectfull or uninformed.
