a rare urodele

A few years ago on vacation in the south of the Alps in France, I had good luck,  to finally find a rare urodele that I had wanted to photograph for a long time.
This species is called SPELEOMANTES STRINATII it lives in France and Italy in caves and dark and humid environments.
I had the good luck to take these pictures in an underground tunnel that supplied water to a blockhaus near the Italian border

This type of biotope also hosts other typical species like (maybe) Dolichopoda chopardi

 

 

 

 

 

and other small species

 

 

 

 

and if you like urodeles a picture of mesotriton alpestris and adult and larva

from my garden, it’s the reproduction season
